Sheila Grant — Get down and BOOGIE!! Bruce and Candy dance quietly. Every Little Thing We Do Is Magic The Juniors gave the class of 1982 a beautiful prom: the band was excellent, the room was elegant and the atmo- sphere was romantic. Each person that attended the dance received a brandy snifter memory glass and a silk white rose. The dance was held in the Grand Ballroom at the Ra- mada Inn, on May 8, 1982, from 9:00 to 12:00. Couples were able to have their pictures taken by Mr. Copeland. “I hope that the Seniors enjoyed the Prom as much as the Juniors enjoyed preparing for it,” stated Mrs. Smith, class sponsor. Senior Michelle Stuke commented, “I thought everything was excellent, especially the band.” 23

It's The Beginning Of Tomorrow. Soundsations entertain one last time. On May 24, 1982, the Senior class took its first step toward beginning their tomorrows by participating in commencement exercises. The ceremony was held in the gym because of rain. Karin Bausch and Michael Woodbury escorted the seniors while the band played the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance.” The invocation was presented by Rev. Francis Stockton, fol- lowed by the welcome, given by Tim Collins, Senior class vice- Eresident. The Soundsations entertained with the song “Out [ere On My Own.” Salutatorian Linda Waller and Valedictorian Scott Boling gave addresses. Sheri McClaskey sang “There’s Always Tomor- row.” The class was presented for graduation by Principal Gerald Leonard. Special certificates of recognition were presented to Mariam Nazrala and Mary Carmen Mosqueda, foreign ex- change students who attended RVHS this year. Diplomas were presented by Myron Stithem, president of the Board of Education. Rev. Roy N. West delivered the benedic- tion. The new Royal Valley graduates marched out to “Huldi- gungsmarch” played by the band. A receiving line was set up in the commons area.
