Sports Banquet Jim Harden receives an award from Mr. Sitton. Members of the track team receive recognition. Miss Robinson gives Robin Danks an award. The awards banquet for participation in sports were given at three various times throughout the year. The members of the volleyball, cross country footballs teams received their awards on Nov. 23. Recognition awards were given to the basketball players on March 15 with a reception following. Track members received their recognition on May 13 1982 at the awards assem- bly. 14 The cheerleaders receive their awards at the banquet.

Coach Sitton “gets it all together” during halftime. for the students of RVHS. The Panther spirit was shown by wearing sweats Monday, favorite T-shirts Tuesday, hats Wednesday, crazy socks Thursday, and Friday was ALL-PURPLE DAY. Friday night Royal Valley played against the Oskaloosa Bears, winning 28-8. During half-time, Sheila Grant and Charlie Hamlin were crowned Homecoming Queen and King. The crownbearers were Jenny Bausch and Willie McClane. “Step by Step” was the Homecoming dance theme. Power Glide provided the music for the dance. The former Queen T. Kern and King L. Bausch and Crown bearers, Willie McClane and Jenny Bausch, wait for the crowning. K. Bek shows her spirit during Homecoming week.

Hello Dolly On November 19,20, and 21, the Royal Valley Players put on their production of “Hello Dolly”. The first showing was November 18 for the Jr. High students. Thursday night’s performance gathered over 100 people. Friday and Saturday night were dinner theater nights. The dinners were provided by FHA. With Mrs. DeGraw and Miss Copeland as directors and the hard work from the entire cast, “Hello Dolly” was a great success.
