I owe you a letter from way back, so here I am. I was reminiscing about our school days and remembering all the fun we had. Remember the dances? The planning, rushing and excite- ment of getting ready for the dance will always be something to remember. And the glorious time we had the day we got out of classes to decorate for the dance! I can recall the wonderful times we had in choir. Remember the day the mouse got loose there? Could he have possibly known how much fun we had? Wasnit that the same mouse that finally ended up hanging from the ceiling of room 102? Of course, there was the Senior Play. Think of all the work those kids had memorizing their lines, working on the props, and rehearsing and rehearsing and rehearsing . . . Could you ever imagine yourself playing the part of Belvedere? And the clubs - with their crazy initiations - rumba-ing down the hall with lipstick smeared all over the initiates, faces . . . and grls with their hair straight . . . washing the school walks with tooth brushes! Most of all, I can recall the Acorn staff and the rushing to get our stories done and in on time. It was about the same for the Oak, but we got both jobs done and we were proud of the finished products . . . Es 4 9 A 1 was bv 24 4 W 'wo J, . 'Q ' M www, l 26 .,. ,, .A.,,. Some boys did - because he was extra nice, or did something special for him, or maybe because the teacher would let him sleep through his class without disturbing him. I can recall one story a girl told me about her Applied Chemistry class. She said she was making soap and was supposed to let the flames burn slowly and gently. She didn,t, though, and the flames crept up over the top of the flask, and . . . POOF, it exploded! Never a dull moment! I still start to shake whenever I think of all the speeches we ' w1w 'die dw had to make for English 5 and Advanced Speech. I sometimes wonder how I ever talked my way out of those courses. I used to think we had so much homework. Remember how we always complained? And it seemed that if you had a test one day, the tests in all your other classes ALWAYS came the same day! But, really, we had no cause for complaining - we always managed to get out of doing so much homework! Of course, you wouldn't remember Child Care, but I cer- tainly can. Besides that class, there were all the other domestic classes.
