The Student Council is the important organization of our high school which is responsible for the fine decorations at Christmas time and the colorful Christmas dances pre- sented each year. It provides for the Freshman initiation each fall which every Freshman patiently awaits for and never forgets. This organization is made up of a boy and girl representative of each class. Under the sponsorship of Mrs. Key and Mr. Dorton, the staff worked very steadily gather- ing and arranging material for this new type of book so as to make it a success. Captains choose their own teams for volleyball and basketball. These teams play against each other during basketball sea- son and have a tournament at the close of the season with trophies presented to the tournament winners. The music department of our school has decreased in size in comparison to previous years, but we feel it has displayed more progress and better attitude this year than it has for a long time. The Cross Country team turned in a very good season this year winning every dual meet in which they participated, as well as winning the County and Conference meets.
