REWORD Since its opening in 1928 Roy Miller has established some strong and lasting traditions These traditions have played a great part in forming the famous Buccaneer spirit which has been evident at Miller for many years Throughout this book we have tried to capture these traditions for you the students of Roy Miller In picture and word form The arrows in the book Indicate the spirit of Miller in carrymg traditions from the past into the future classes at our school When we come to Miller as sophomores we are scared and confused By our next year as Juniors we are more confident and very glad to be- long to the Miller student body At last we become proud seniors During this most wonderful of all years we feel as if we have been given charge of the Miller spirit and it is up to us to keep it going to give to the future classes During our years at Miller we are guided in our studies and ac- tivities by interested teachers and other faculty members. We work with each other in a spirit of togetherness which permeates the whole school. Traditional activities such as flying our helium-filled balloons carry- ing flower arches at graduation and the iunior-senior assembly are repeated each year. Another great part of our tradition is that a true Buccaneer never accepts a defeat. Setbacks we accept for we use them as stepping stones to victory. This spirit is evident in our sports, in our school organizations, and in the hearts of students of Roy Miller High School. 6 TRADITIONS DOMINAT
