One of the highlights of the skit was a sing- ing commercial by the Duffle Bags, Bette Mor- rison and Donna Du- rant. The Duffle Bag Staff Presents Skit Each year the Duffle Bag staff presents a short skit using the theme of the last book. The skit was written by Betty Vickers and directed by Karolen Winters. In it were three short scenes and two dances. Also in the assembly, the first place plaque won in Texas competition by the Duffle Bag was presented to the school by last year's editor, Barbara Kanipe. Mr. Gregg accepted, and the plaque and a copy of the 1956 annual were placed in the trophy case. about the senior banquet which they must plan the juniors remember last year Brenda Roell Jud Oswalt Shar J ' , . , y , on ennings, Ann Ragland, Paulette Stamps, Judy Park, Sandra Hinson, and Barbara Zimmerman dance in their Alice in Wonderland costumes.

One of the speakers at Career Night, Gene Lanphier, takes time out for a cuy of coffee served by Angelita Nava. Bob McCracken from the Caller-Times conducts a session on reporting, for interested sophomores. i Talking over some of the high points of Career Night are Mary Helen Weygl, buyer for Lichtenstein's, Dorothy Burghower, sec- retary, and Johnny Mitchell, sheriff. John Hill Watts district mana er for CPL, and several guides 1 8 stand in front of a career poster. Sophomores Seek Careers Every year the Guidance Department of Corpus Christi schools sponsors a Career Night for Sophomores. This night is dedicated to helping students choose their life's vocations. This year the program was held at Roy Miller. The students choose two professions in.which they think they might be interested, and hear speakers who advise them about the opportunities and problems of the profession. The speakers chosen for Career Night are local leaders in their respective fields and are well qualified to speak about them.
