He has been a faith- ful fan of the Bucs for twenty-two years. There are thousands of former C. C. H. S. students who remember Ben because he has come to be a tradi- tion at our school. Ben is a definite link between C. C. H. S. and Roy Miller High. At top Ben is shown at work doing the Bucs wash Above at a pep rally Ben is giving his usual good phil- osophy on going to c hurch, getting plenty of sleep, and taking care of yourself. Shot at left shows students rubbing Ben's bald head for good luck, as do all the Buc- caneers before each game. rl x f C t The completion of W. B. Ray High School rnade necessary the re-naming of our school. These scenes were taken at the Roy Miller dedication. Above, Jo Malcolm is shown presenting Mrs. Roy Miller with an orchid. Below are shots of the Roy Miller portrait, Mrs. Miller and Dudley Tarlton. The middle picture shows Mr. Baker making his address. At the right is a shot of the crowd. -my M , X J FD EDD Just as the Buccaneers who v1s1ted our Bay ln years gone by packed thelr duffle bags wxth treasures found ln thelr adventures the annual staff has packed The Duffle Bag of 1951 w1th plctures of events of th1s school year Treasured plctures of your classmates and teach ers have been packed 1n too It 15 hoped that when your hlgh school days have been forgotten that you wlll re capture the fun and exclternent of the year 1951 by opemng the pages of your Duffle Bag J 1 xv, , ,D I XA Fft' ' I , 1 f LL,,.,,,'-yn I 7x1 3 -- -4--' 1' A . if N, , . , ' V if , ,I . ,. PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE A yearbook, which will provide a strong link with the past to recall friends and teachers, rightly occupies a place of importance in the lives of high school pupils. The picture-record of the 1951 Duffle Bag will become more treasured with the passing of years not only because of this contact with the past but also be- cause our School is looking to the future. This, our first year under the name of ROY MILLER HIGH SCHOOL, we consider a good beginning toward even more worth- while accomplishments in the future. My congratulations to the faculty and student body and especially to the staff of the 1951 Duffle Bag. Very Sincerely, get Right: Mr. Fred Thompson, assistant principal of Roy Miller High School, is always a willing advisor of student's activities. His voice is familiar to all as he directs the day's work. Below: When students have difficulties or problems, . 5 Mrs. Charlene Orr investigates and helps to find a solution which is the duty of her position as a visiting consultant. SALUTE TO THE SERVICE This small space is hu mbly dedicated to the young men who now serve our armed forces. We want to acknowle dge the fact that they might have appeared in this annual, in this very place, if they had not chosen to defend the peace of our world. These young men, perhaps a girl's sweetheart, a boy's friend, we do not want to forget. Thus, in the year of our Lord, 1951, we dedicate a small space for a great cause.
