I happen to believe in teamwork, group spirit, and participa- tion, do you? I thought that by putting our heads together, we would soar to great heights, and accomplish our goals. We really accomplished them this year. I'm so grateful and lucky that our staff this year was so cooperative, responsible, and hard-work- ing. It really shows in the end. Through the year, our efforts and ideas all seemed to be grabbed in midair and thrown together by an almost visible result of suction. We couldn't have had a better bunch of staff people. They all Knew what their objectives were. First, I would like to thank the administration. Where would our class really be without them to guide us. They have given us inspiration and leadership that we have truly deserved. I also am grateful to them for helping us to achieve a feeling of maturi- ty, responsibility, and a positive outlook on life. Next, I wish to congratulate our teaching corps. They have given us, by example an attitude that we get out what we put into something. Doing a job half way is not the way. We all see now what the consequences will be. I couldn't help but see the gradual change between the old fashioned teacher-student rela- tionship to the change I've witnessed, in just these few years. We've seen from some teachers that extra kindness and atten- tion can lead to long-lasting relationships in later life. One other good point is that the faculty has shown us over the years that you must try to get everything out of your job. Use it to its fullest power, then try to get more. Be ambitious. Finally, I'd like to thank the senior class of 1978. I would lirst like to say that I have never in my life seen a more spirited, active, and downright spunkier group than you all. For instance, our Portico sales have hit new inconceivable, unbelievable records. It is really rewarding that your spirit has motivated us to work just the same in bringing you this yearbook. It is what kept us on the move. We wanted to make the 1978 PORTICO reflections our class as we really are. I've learned a very impor- tant lesson this year: work hard, and put your real gut-feelings into whatever you do, and then see where that gets you. I would like to say farewell to my school by first wishing each and every member of our class a tremendous amount of luck in the future. Also to the underclassmen, I would like to pass on to you that if you keep a sharp lookout, you too, will see the valuable lessons that go on in our school each day. Be sure to realize what our school really has to offer to you. Almost every- thing, except a soccer field. Thank you Ketcham, For everything you've done, Steve Higgins l l w fi .4 283
