each of us are unique unto ourselves. each of us have different beliefs. different things affect us in positive and negative ways. separately we function according to our own private desires and impulses. when we enter into a relationship together some changes take place. i will try to accept your behavior when you are trying to fulfill yourself. i will listen carefully and with understanding in a way that will help you arrive at your own solutions. i will try to aid you in anyway i can in this search for self- discovery. when my behavior is unacceptable to you, i will invite you to tell me openly just how you are affected, if i can do that without compromising myself. however, when the issue is of high priority to me, i must own my feelings, or else i will become unacceptable of myself and resentful of you. as for myself, i am committed to the idea that my beliefs make me either happy or unhappy. when i am happy i will delight in it. when i am unhappy i will ask myself why. i will not impose upon you the burden of making me happy, or keeping me from getting annoyed or angry. i know that i am responsible for those feelings in myself. i, therefore, give you the freedom to be and to take care of yourself. i also take that freedom for myself. only in that way can we give to each other freely, without resentment, fear or anger. i am what i am. although that is not a constant. i can be no more than i am at any given minute. that is all i have to be. if i can accept myself without judgement wherever i am at, i can accept you and the world with an infinity of love.
