Their voices have been tested and among them have been found some very fine soloists, who may even make a mark in the world of music. lXlr. Ecker, our instructor before his appointment as Director of Klusic in the Boston Public Schools. sent us one of the finest musicians and best-liked men in the department. Klr. T. Francis Burke. Xlr. Burke has successfully carried on lXlr. Ecker's work in the Clee Club. The club per- formed in assemblies, and as in former years, sent a group of carolers to the School Committee Oflices at 15 Beacon Street, a few days before Christmas. Our band has the usual instru- mentation of brass, Woodwind and percussion, and unusual faculty for playing well. This year the band was under the direction of Mr. Ray VVhitehouse. The band is a military organization under strict discipline, which the boys will greatly appreciate in future years. It is, as in the past, one of the best schoolboy bands in the city. This band is the only one in the city that plays difhcult, brilliant compositions of the standard march rep- ertoire. The Roxbury Memorial High School CBOysD Band rehearses twice a week under Mr. Whitehouse and his assistants. The band played at the B. C.
