Remarkable because of its efficiency, and respected because of its fine merit system, only those of the highest caliber may serve. Our system excels among Boston high schools. The advisors, in chronological order have been: Captain Kelley, hir. Thayer, hdr. Coveney, and Mr. Reardon. This almost perfect organization of today was, like proverbial Rome, not built in a day. Only years of experiment and achievement gave our industrious boys the recognition of an enthusiastic headmaster when, in the fall of 1933, Mr. Masterson attended a patrol meeting, made sugges- tfons, and prophetically looked forward to even more improvements. Today the patrol has grown from a mere handful of willing but hand- icaped students to over 250 efficient, uniformed patrolmen in a well-disc! plined organization. The improvement in Patrol efficiency and appear- ance, as the older members of the faculty will attest, has been nothing short of miraculous. Present day Memorial is secure under the surveillance of its student sentinels. Patrol meetings are held regularly and, the Lunch Room Pa- trol, an innovation, has been adopted. Mr. Reardon, Patrol Captains and Student Patrolmen, we salute youl 1numlnumlunllmulllrumlmmiwinilliiiliilliiiiililliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilliiiiiiiliiiiiliiiiiiiliiillliiiiliiiililliiiiiiilliiilliiiiiiiliiiiliiilliiiiiliiiiiiiiliiilillliiiliiillliiillliiiilliliiiiiiiliiiiilllliiilillilllillliiillllillllillilllillliilliiilililll lilllillllilllill iii liiiifiilliiilliillliiiillliiillmnlmnmmumu1 ' f77J

Ecker, Director of Xlusic in the Boston Public Schools, sent us a competent instructor in the' person of Klr. Joseph R. Trongone. lWr. Trongone took up where iX'Ir. Ecker left off, and under his supervi- sion the orchestra progressed mightily. The members of the orchestra are chosen with great discrimination, because all selections played require versatile and competent musicians. Our orchestra has played at all school functions. such as assemblies, Parent-Teacher programs, senior play and the graduation exercises. lt might be interesting to note that, through the efforts of Mr. Ecker and the cooperation of N111 hlasterson, our orchestra is the only one in the school department that holds rehearsals twice a week. This makes it possible for members to secure twice the instruction and 'practice they would otherwise have. FIRST ROW M. LANDMAN Mr. J. A. TRONGONE C. DANA J. ZIMMERMAN Director W. APPATOFF H.
