A MESSAGE TO THE cl.Ass or me , Be of 'good couragel You are probably the most fortu- nate class yet to be graduated from this school. Your pred- ecessors stepped out into a cold, gloomy world sunk in the 'depths of depression. You, on the other hand, are going forth at the beginning of a new era, a cycle of advancement, and a time of unheard of accomplishment. Every depression has been followed by a wave of deter- mination that has always ushered in a new period in which greater things were done than were ever done before. On the threshold of such a time you now stand. Before you, therefore, is dawning a new age, to which you bring the freshness and the vigor of youth, the clear eyes of faith in yourselves, and the firm purpose of final success. Animated by a worthy ambition and a firm resolution to apply your- selves assiduously to the tasks that lie before you, you can- not failg you must be victorious. You have been educated in a school as good as any in the land. You have been made acquainted with the arts and sciences, commerce, and trade. You have been taught to be honorable, dependable, and upright. You have been, I hope, inspired by the teachings of your instructors to be ambitious, forward-looking, and confident. With the mental equipment you now possess, it is within your power to earn and to make your way in the world, and to attain in due time honorable places in the life of your community. Co forth, then, with courage. Attack your diHiculties with right good will and find that place in the World for which your school has so gladly and so well pre- pared you. ROBERT B. MASTERSON.
