FUR GAEL 5 I3 llNIOIt LEAVE RH GRIDIRUN The curtain for the Roxbury High School football team dropped on Thanksgiving with the Gaels losing to Hackettstown, 27-6. This game ended the football careers of thirteen players. The record of five wins, three losses. and one tie is not as bad as it looks, since only 5 TD's separated the Gaels from an undefeated season. This year saw many injuries which hit the team almost every game. Nearly every player was hurt at some time or other, notably Hicok, whose arm was broken in two places in the Newton game. Several boys made especially fine records: Ed Post was named county high-scorer, and was included, with Steelman, Chaplin, and Tardive, on the All-County Team. Chaplin, Steelman, and Post made the All-State Group II, and Post was mentioned for third string in the All-State, All-Group Team, which includes all the High, Parochial, and Preparatory schools in state. ,Q f X. csv ,Q ff' 7 , iff .K I ' I J V I .
