Text from Pages 1 - 70 of the 1967 volume:

The Class of 1967 of Roxbury Central School gratefully dedicates its Record to MR. PETER PARNELL As our class advisor Mr. Parnell has given us invaluable aid throughout our four years of high school. Other classes have also benefitted from his advice and leadership. The dedication of this yearbook is a small token of our sincere thanks and appreciation. Mr. PgrnQll Seniors: Along the path of life it is expected that we will encounter many experiences. Some of these experiences will leave us with happy memories, others with less pleasant memories. 1 sincerely hope that you will have memories of your past thirteen years of school in both categories; some bitter, some sweet. You might discover that a blend of these is often prone to yield the most interesting results. Nevertheless, in parting may fortune smile favorably in your direction and may you take as much from Roxbury Central School with you as you have most assuredly left with us. MR. BRUCE MAYNARD Principal MR. LEONARD WHITELONIS Vice Principal SENIORS CIsqq of '67 FIRST ROW: Lorraine German, Lynne Miller, Margie Gile, Mary George, Barbara Thomp- son, Mary Ann Rossman, Sandra Erway, Linda Rowe; SECOND ROW: Eddie Shultis. ABSENT: Sherry Taylor, Sharon Gilham, James DiGiacomo, Cindy Poole, Mary Weyl, William Brown. MR. PETER PARNELL Senior Advisor WILLIAM BROWN It is not enough to do good; one must do it the right way. JAMES DIGTACOMO The truth is always the strongest argument. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. SANDRA ERWAY It matters not how long you live, but how well. LORRAINE GERMAN People will not look forward to prosperity who never look back- ward to their ances- tors. V GEORGE ’’When man has learned to judge himself, then he can begin to judge others. The weak who know how to play on their weaknesses are strong. MARGIE GILE RAYMOND GERMAN Things are never so bad: they could al- ways get worse: from the day you were born, 'til you ride in a hearse. SHARON G1LHAM Individuality is being yourself. SCOTT GORDON If 1 do not believe as you believe, it proves that you do not believe as 1 believe and that is all that it proves. One of the advantages of being disorderly is that one is constantly making exciting discoveries. JILL HUDLER JOE KELLY Experience is the mother of knowledge. LYNNE MILLER He is not laughed at that first laughs at him- self. GREGG KIERDORF No man can climb out beyond the limitations of his own character. Life is not so short but that there is always time enough for courte- sy. MICHAEL PORTER CINDY POOLE We are not primarily put on this earth to see through one another, but to see one another through. DOROTHY ROSS MAN MARY ANN ROSSMAN Simplicity of character is no hin- drance to subtlety of intellect. Experience is the Child of Thought, and Thought the Child of Action. LINDA ROWE EDWARD SHULTIS The mind that is cheerful at present will have no solici- tude for the future. and will meet the bitter occurrences of life with a smile. SHERRY TAYLOR It is the mark of an inexperienced man not to believe in luck. NANCY SPENCER I am now becoming that which 1 shall someday be. Shallow men believe in luck; strong men believe in wisdom. Maria Cattaneo In early February, Maria Cattaneo arrived in Roxbury from San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina, through the Rotary Exchange Program. She soon became a member of the senior class. Her pleasant smile and friendly attitude made many friends for her. Maria comes from a large family. She has four brothers and one sister. Her father is a doctor, specializing in surgery. Her oldest brother was an exchange student to the state of Washington and re- turned home just 10 days before Maria left for New York State. Maria enjoys skiing, roller skating, swimming, tennis, riding horseback, and her new found joy - the trampoline. We are looking forward to having Maria join our class on our trip to Washington, D. C. in April. She hopes to see much of the United States before returning to Argentina. We hope Maria will enjoy her stay in Roxbury as much as we will enjoy having her. Junior Band FIRST ROW: P.
