V ' We Ei? .10 Z, This year the Music Department Of' the Roxbury Central if School has a new group, which is the mixed chorus. Students from rades 7-12 under the direction of 1 nstance S , Mss Co Formichella, have formed a very successful group. The chorus participated in the annual Christmas Program and the Winter and Spring Concerts, which were very successful. The chorus was selected to go to the Massed Band and Shorus Concert at Delhi last November. We are all hoping that the chorus groups has the group this year has had. Annette Kelly Since the last 'Record! band activities 1nc1uded--- The Memorial Day Parade at Roxbury and Grand Gorge,and the weekly summer concerts given at Roxbury, Denver, and Halcottsville. Our first event in the fall was the annual Hallowe'en parade with Pat Hatt1ce,Freda Chr1st1an,and Janet M1nnerly,our three majorettes who keep the band in step while marching. These same three were chosen to perform at the Morris Fair. In November the following people were chosen to represent Roxbury in the massed band at Delhi: Annette Ke1ly,bar1tonegGary Lee Ty1er,trumpet3Lu1a Mae Ploutz,clar1net3B1l1 Sm1th,f1ute:Anne Hopk1ns,French horn. Conrad Ross played oornet in the massed orchestra. Also in November Annette Ie11y,Mar1e Gr1ff1n,and Gary Lee Tyler played in the All-State Sectional Band at Oneonta: in December these same students played in the All-State Band at Rochester. This band was under the direction of the noted Frank Simon. y Last Hay our band again participated in the New York State Music Concert at Delhi. This was the first time that the band has entered with a II rating. At graduation L. C. Gray will present the band with 810.00 to show his appreciation for the concerts given him on his lawn last summer. At graduation we will lose four of our members:E1eanor VanAken,Mar1e Gr1ff1n,Pat Hatt1ce,and Annette Kelly. --------Marie Griffin 26

Later, our advisor Mr. Agone, helped us plan some future assembly programs which we expect to see soon.
