PHILADELPHIANS HONORED Last night at the National Sports banquet, seven Philadelphians received awards. Six football awards were made to members of the Eagles Team: jess Richardson. john Youngfleish. james Homewood, Hob Griftith, Al Labrusciano, and Dick Michael. Base- ball award for Philadelphia was won by Fred Buckler of the A's. Slow Boat Leaves for China Among the many notables on a slow boat that left for China yesterday, eaptained by Eugene Kohles, was Corine Vergari. a lecturer-professor from Bryn Mawr College. On board were two very pretty sfewardesses, Dolores Subetski and Joan Van Fosseng a traveling saleswoman. Miss Sally Hendricks, and four A.P. Foreign Cor- respondents, janet Benedict, Mildred Douglas, janet Gill. and Adele Kistler. Agricultural Award Winner It was announced last night by the National Agricultural Association that the awards for the most progressive methods exercised in farming, pigeon raising and trapping are to be awarded respectively to William Sincage, Wilbur Miller, and George Dellaporte. The Theatre This Week By Stage-Door Kate Philadelphia audiences are being honored by the appearance of Americas two greatest living thespians. Peggy Long and Ted Howitz are co-starring in A Night in Monte Carlofl How- ever, Miss Long intends to go to Monte Carlo when the show closes.
