We were indeed fortunate in securing Mr. Harvey as sponsor. Class Officers Elected This was one of the highlights of the first half of our Junior Term. Our confidence in Ted Howitz was strong enough to elect him president. The V ice-Presidency was held by Arthur Faulk. The secretary was Eleanor Spano and the treas- urer was Richard Hague. The Waltz Dream On December 12, 13, 14, of 1947, one of the most vivid musical shows Roxborough has ever presented was given in our auditorium. The excellent talent of many members of the 11th grade made this possible. The Fall Daze On November 7, 1947, the 49'ers gave their first dance in the Girls' Gym. This was both a financial and social success. Stanley Koch dressed as the coy maid and Ann Hait as his handsome suitor contributed to the entertain- ment. First Members of lhe Honor Society In October, an Honor Society assembly was given. The first members to be inducted from the 11th grade were Sarah Virkler, Arthur Faulk, and Peggy Schultz. It wasn't easy for these students to achieve this hard earned goal, but it certainly proved worth while in the end. The Junior Prom On January 16, 1948, all our loyal lads and lassies gathered at the Green Valley Country Club with one purpose in mind, that of making this prom a memorable event. And we surely accomplished what we set out to do, for even the dubious critics had to admit that it was the most successful junior Prom in a long time. Music was provided by those able-bodied musicians, Simmers' Esquires, and we enjoyed the dancing until one o'clock. Then we left for Dons, ttHot Shoppes, or any of our other favorite after prom spots. The majority of us didn't get home until the early hours of Saturday morning. But one thought prevailed in all of our minds, this being that we would remember this joyous evening for many years to come. 11B CLASS OFFICERS REMAIN THE SAME In the beginning of our 11B term, we were so well satisfied with our efficient officers that we decided to place our trust in them for another term. This was quite a compliment for Ted, Arthur, Spinny, and Dick, for it isn't often that a class has so much confidence in their officers that they don't think it necessary to hold an- other election.
