1977 ROX STAFF DEDICATION We, the 1976-77 Rox Staff, wish to dedicate this yearbook to you, Mr. Morris E. Tschannen, for your many years of outstanding service to Roxana High School. Born June 17, 1926, in Highland, Illinois, you went through elementary and high school there. You attended college at Eastern 111. University where you played football and graduated in 1950. On August 25, 1948, you married Helen Hunter of Greenville, and now have three children, Bob, Bev, and Joe. In 1950, your teaching career began at St. Jacob High School, which is now part of the Triad District. You started teaching at Roxana High School in 1954 with classes which included typing, general business, and accounting. You were head wrestling coach from 1954 to 1970, coached freshmen and sophomore football in 1956,57, were head varsity football coach from 1962-1970. You and Mrs. Tschannen have owned a cabin on the Illinois River just south of Hardin for over 20 years and during warm weather, you spend as much time as you can there. You like to fish, boat, and go duck hunting. With your green thumb, you have a very productive garden. During your years at Roxana, you have dedicated yourself to the well-being of the school.
