As the young couple leaves for the dance, the proud mother smiles and wishes them a wonderful evening, then spends the evening as a typical parent anxiously awaiting their safe return from their memorable evening.

T D H A E N C E like most young men. Handy goes through the ritual of asking his father for the car. Along with the keys comes the warning to be home earlv. I At the Bryan’s house, below, an entirely different ritual is taking place. While awaiting Randy’s arrival. Linda carefully adds the finishing touches to her hair and make-up. Memories of the Coronation Dance arc not restricted to the dance alone; the preparation the boy and girl go through makes up half of the fun. The boy will always remember the agony of inviting that certain girl and the ecstasy of having her accept. After she has been invited, the girl begins preparation by picking out the dress she will wear. The utmost care is taken in her selection, because it is going to be a very special evening. The invitation, the preparation, and the dance will always be remembered by those who shared them. Linda Bryan and Handy McLain agreed to cooperate for these pages which follow a typical Roxana couple throughout a memorable Homecoming evening; one which will be similarly remembered by countless RCHS students and alumni. One of the hazards a girl must encounter before going to the dance is allowing her date to pin on her corsage. Below, Linda holds her breath as Kandy cautiousl) pins the flower to her dress.
