That these citizens have felt the responsibility of their great obligations to the future citizens is shoum by the concrete evidence of these many buildings. The school population in the Roxana area has grown from 500 in 1941 to 1902 in 1953. No one can foretell what added responsibilities will be heaped upon this loyal citizenry in the future, for a growing population in a highly industrial com- munity knows no limits. Whatever the load may be, the citizens of Community Unit District No. 1 can be depended upon to meet its obligations to the school children of this area. To you, the citizens of the Roxana area, we are grateful. The Class of 1954 Admini tration Sitting: Standing: Mr Mr Dr. W. V. Yet, dependability is one of those rare and rich iewels of character which contributes greatly, en- abling the individual so possessed to stand out above the average in his community. You who are being graduated this year have demonstrated dependability by your achievement in completing school-may you, in the pathway of life that stretches before you, blaze a trail that will in the years to come symbolize you as one of those distinct individuals of whom it is said - He is dependable -because without it, success cannot be yours. Those industries. whose business has continued to furnish the lifeiblood of com- merce and prosperity to your community over the yearshave, done so-not by a miracle, but by constructive hard work and establishing a character-the same char- acteristic which can mean so much to you - E-5 xr :xc RN 'r -- 1 I'i?'f W7 -dependability.
