NO HOME COURT Because there was no home court during volleyball season, the volleyball team had to practice on the Quad and play the entire season away. However, they overcame these hardships and made it to the playoffs. Prior to the regular season the team played in the El Camino and La Puente tournaments. They made the consolation finals in the La Puente Tournament. During the league season their record was 8 wins and 7 losses. They placed third in CIF playoffs, but lost three straight to Louisville, the CIF Champions. Barrie Ebenkamp was named to the All League 1st. team, while Cindy Morrell and Debra Gruner were named to All League 2nd. team. Most Valuable Player award went to Cindy Morrell and Barrie Ebenkamp. The Coaches award went to Linda Barajas, and Connie Peregretti was named Most Improved. Coach Stewart stated: With only two seniors on the team this year, next year should be great. 78 Volleyball

Although they tried and tried to win a match this year, the Girls Varsity Tennis Team came up short everytime. They played a competitive game and were strong in some areas, but no matter how hard they tried, they couldn ' t seem to win a match. The most disappointing loss was to Walnut, a team they would like most to beat. We would like to bump them off their throne, commented Jeanne Koerner, the coach. Mrs. Koerner enjoyed the team for no matter the situation, the girls retained their good spirits. The Most Valuable players on the team this year were Wendy Portillo and Stacy Marquez, and the Most Improved players were Diane Bencomo and Lily Lemos. All was not bleak in tennis-, however, for the Girls Jr. Varsity team placed third in the league. Congratulations. 80 Girls Tennis
