Randy Deanda Maria De Corpo Jodi Delaney Carlene Delegal ir Becoming a semi-finalist for the National Merit Scholar- ship came as quite a surprise to Kim Ball, a senior who is currently planning on a career in business. I really didn ' t try that hard on the PSAT test. Now, however, she is planning on working very hard on passing the SAT and becoming a finalist in the competition. Kim has found that even being a semi-finalist in the com- petition has opened many doors. Colleges have become in- terested in her, and she even attended a special day at USC for semi-finalists. She feels that her scores will enable her to be more selective of the college she will attend next year. Kim has always kept busy with a variety of activities. She has worked on ASB for three years and feels that it is a very worthwhile activity to do. She is also on the Senior Council and takes an ROP class in banking. While she has very little time for activities after school. Kim does enjoy horseback riding. She has an Arabian gelding, but because of limited riding space, she has shipped the horse to Oregon to the ranch her parents have purchased. Kim has enjoyed Rowland High School. While she has enjoyed getting involved in the activities, Kim also feels her teachers have set a very high standard that she has had to meet.
