Is this headline for something In the future? 6. Jim Bolden ' s back-up band was sure cutel 7. A student cranks Phyllis Martinez into the air. The completion of the gym enabled the school to hold assemblies once again, and how nice it was. For the first time in years all of the stu- dents could come to one assembly, and there was a stage and curtains and lights: almost as good as a real auditorium. The first assembly was an Energy Assembly. It didn ' t sound excit- ing, but once it started, everyone was interest- ed. The second assembly was a return of the famous Jim Bolden. He was, as usual, outstand- ing. His rendition of One Tin Soldier will be remembered for a long time. Joyce Sharpe then brought her talents to school in January, when she put a group of students through some very unusual actions. One major noon-time assembly was the FMOC assembly. The gym was packed with students who were awaiting the results of a very close election. All in all the assemblies certainly added spice to a very bland diet of school. Potpourri 269
