Letter Carriers: Donna Uder, Maria Lapasona. Rhonda Anderson, Lisa Friss. Denise Clark, Laurie McPherson, Mary Saczawa, Caria McDonald. 5. Susan Morrell and Sue Emerick open half time with a smile. 6. BandetteS: Row I: Michelle Vera, Teresa Crouse, Maureen Merriles, Sharon McCall, Dawn Lemons, Dora Serna, Lynn Rogers. Row 3: Cathy Fox, Susan Morrell, Pam Smith, Michelle Canta. Row 3: Christi Brown, Lisa Morez, Terri Sweezey, Jennifer Wilson, Dana Mullens, Andrea Gather. Row 4: Lorelta Amador. Christina Rodriguez, Sue Emerick. 7. Mrs. Carnevale, the advisor. Excitement prevailed when it was announced that Su- san Emerich and Susan Morrell were chosen as mem- bers of the Tournament of Roses Parade Band Flag Corp. for 1982. This was just one of the awards that was brought home by members of the Bandettes, the per- forming auxiliary units to band. Other individual awards were won by Jennifer Wilson,- 1st out of 200 in marching elimination; Denise Hippin, Young Americans Dance Team Tryouts-, and Karen Cook and Ginny Schierenbeck, second in high school solo twirling. The Tall Flag group has won 4 firsts and 2 thirds in festival and parade competition this year, and the groups as a whole won 2 firsts at camp and received the coveted Spirit Award while garnering the Sweepstakes for the school with the most awards. The advisor, Patt Carne- vale is very pleased with the girls ' performances. How- ever, behind the awards can be found a dedicated group of students who brave rain, sleet, fog, and stu- dent drivers early each morning in the parking lot in order to practice for these award-winning perfor- mances.
