Soo Shin and Robert Skaggs discuss Soo ' s trip to Germany. 3. Is Mark Hanlon really taking suggestions from the club? 4. A common lunch day with the German Club students. Learning about the German culture is an important aspect of the German Club. In order to do this, the club sponsors a variety of events that would lead to more knowledge of the German Culture. They discovered many German traits when they visited Alpine Village and Solvang. However, one of the most memorable occasions was the German Christmas party where they tried to recreate an authentic German Christmas feast. To become better acquainted with their counterparts in Germany, many of the club members have pen pals in West Germany with whom they correspond on a regular basis, while some of the German II students attended a German Camp to learn more about Germany. The star member of the club this year was Soo Shin. Soo spent last summer in Germany where she studied and toured various areas of Germany. Mrs. Grabler, the club advisor, feels that students always benefit from a knowledge of other cultures that exist in our world. 324 German
