The second year of coed badminton created changes in the balance of players. More boys went out for the team and sometimes proved to be the stronger players. Barbara Grund, team coach, commented. The girls are still strong, though, because of past years ' experience. Top seated for girls singles is Debbie Tardival, who started her league season with all wins against Los Altos and Wilson. Outstanding girls doubles are Lily Lemos and Renee Ruiz. While the boys are new and have needed time to develop their talents, Kirk Mustain and John Zabola have shown their ability by becoming top boys in doubles. Optimism is a key word for the team as they try for a higher standing in league play. I. Coach Grund explains the day ' s strategy to the team. 2.
