Mr. Purdy remains as Headmaster, with his time given to maintaining a strong financial structure for the school. Mr. Evans, as Assistant Headmaster, is responsible for the daily operation of the educational program. The Lower School was accredited by the State Department of Education last May, culminating many months of self-evaluation. Thanks to the generosity of patrons of the school, we have a great deal of new equipment this year, including a stove, tape and record players, slide projectors, maps, science materials, and audio-visual materials for the French program. Funds from last year ' s musical resulted in the purchase of four dulcimers; a special bazaar project provided money for carpeting the fourth grade room. We have continued old traditions, such as the fall Bazaar, and the Christmas music program, and look forward to Color Day in the spring. The first and sixth grades presented the musical The Magical Pied Piper during January. An instrumental music program has been added for grades three through six. Roller skating joined ice skating, skiing, and a combined swimming-gymnastics program during the Friday afternoon winter sports program. The children have had many learning experiences away from school, at the Planetarium, Museum of Natural History, Weather Bureau, Police Station, and bakery. Outdoor expeditions took them to the Great Salt Lake, local canyons, and Capital Reef.
