One of these people teaches us everyday the love and concern we should show towards others. Although she is not a teacher she has taught that by giving love, we will receive love. Every afternoon we receive the lady that has become so much a part of our lives. She works brightening our hallways and classrooms. We often hear her calling and come to her. We talk, and she gives us everything she can. To the most beautiful lady we know, we give all our love, and dedicate the 1975-76 yearbook to PHOEBE DIX. HELLO! DAY Only a biggot could design a game where we could only associate with our own color group. Someone should have warned us we were going to be getting dirty in the garden. TTien we could have ruined our uniforms instead of our favorite clothes. de You ' re supposed to use your arm, not your nose, to hit the volleyball. Of course I ' m stepping on a plant . . You said you wanted them pressed firmly into the ground. Is registration for classes really an appropriate activity for school? SEEDS It ' s too hot — Let ' s play volleyball with a water balloon instead. Did you Hear. . .pst. . .pst. . .Mr. Evans is spreading rumors in the library. i Hey Turkey! You ' re supposed to hoe the weeds not the evergreens. From the mess everyone made, you ' d think they didn ' t serve buns or forks with the sloppy-joes. Despite popular opinion, the Green group has not gone back to Mars. Only to Joe ' s. We had two kinds of Rock g roups — one dug weeds and the other dug Steven Stills. Some took advantage of the opportunity to experience the cul- ture and environment of California. Others found themselves in the positions of teachers (quite a change) as volunteers with the Head Start Program or the Children ' s Center. A number of students en- riched their knowledge of Utah History, debate. World War II, local plants and animals, law, theatre production, typing and dance. A dozen or so gained a few pounds in Gourmet Cooking. The students in Calligraphy will never write the same again. The reactions of the students to the largest interim prog- ram selection attempted here at Rowland Hall illus- trate the program ' s worth. Way over yonder, is a place I have seen. In a garden of wisdom, from some long ago dream. Maybe tomorrow. I ' ll find my way; To the land where the honey runs in the rivers each day. And the sweet tasting good life is so easily found. Bokonon Ellingson, Jim There are some men who should have mountains to bear their names to time. Grave-makers are not high enough or green, and sons go far away to ease the fist their father ' s hand will always seem. I had a friend: he lived and died in mighty silence and with dignity, left no book, son, or lover to mourn. Nor is this a mourning-song but only a naming of this mountain on which I walk, fragrant, dark, and softly white under the pale of mist. I name this mountain after him. They do not sweat and whine about their condition. They do not lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins. They do not make me sick discussing their duty to God, Not one is dissatisfied, not one is demented with the mania of owning things. Not one kneels to another, nor to his kind that lived thousands of years ago. Not one is respectable or unhappy over the whole earth. Faculty par- ticipated in numerous activities as well as in their required classes.
