CLASS HISTORY September 5, 1966 was the beginning of our long road toward our big goal--to become an R.N. Our first week of orientation included a singspiration, talent show and a picnic. Along with this came the serious business--learning what todoand what not to do. Next came caps, books, books, and more books. Picture making brought a new dilemma--finding old uniforms that fit. Classes brought closed study and trips to Cataw- ba. However, we didn't keep our noses in the books all the time. We sold candy, walked to the park and town, went Christmas caroling and attended Fall Festival where our representative was crowned queen. Those crazy summer days brought sun bathing and a summer dance. During the year we lost seven of our classmates, leaving only twelve of us to continue. It was a proud day in our lives when we received our Junior stripes. Now we were no longerthe, baby nurses . Shortly thereafter our number became eleven. The Fall Festival this year wa s sponsored by our class, again our representative won. At Halloween we trick or treated for UNICEF. At Christmas we spread cheer with carols and enjoyed a Big and Little Sister party. As March winds began so did our flight to Pennsylvania on March 4. This was met with feelings of anticipation and dread. Upon our return we had a farewell picnic for the Seniors. It's hard to believe that these years are over, years filled with many people and ex- periences we will never forget. Regardless of the outcome we will always remember our three years at RMH. AS we go our separate ways--to conquer new worlds. The Senior Class of 1969 bids you a relieved FAREWELL ! Historian Pauline Hatley 19
