To our Families and Friends whose love and understanding has brought us ashore when we were on the verge of sinking, we graduate with the hopes of fulfilling your high expectations. The Nightingale Pledge I Solemnly Pledge Myself Before God And in The Presence Of This Assembly: To pass my life in purity and to practice my profession faithfully. I will abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous, and will not take or knowingly administer any harmful drug. I will do all in my power to maintain and elevate the standard of my profession, and will hold in confidence all personal matters committed to my keeping, and all family affairs coming to my knowledge in the prac- tice of my profession. With loyalty will I endeavor to aid the physician in his work, and devote myself to the welfare of those committed to my care. 25

Ne Last Wil) and Testament Eleanor Davis, leave my imagination to change my room around every week to my little sister, Jane Lopp, in hopes that her back is strong and her classmates have ear plugs. Pat Deal, leave my ability to fix thin pizzas to Brenda Love! Libby Anne DeVier, leave my so called resemblance to Gail Lucas to anyone who can collect as many comments as I. Judy Hancock, being of feeble mind and weak body, do now leave my clinical evaluations, to anyone, just, anyone who has Mood Swings. Marina Harris leave to Gail Harris, my ability to get two anatomical parts of the body confused. Barbara Johnson Holshouser, being of sound mind and weak body do leave to anyone who wants it my empty room, 204, and hope they have the good fortune of getting a husband as I did. Janet Hutchins, will leave and take everything with me, in hopes that life hereafter will be more rewarding. Donna Kluttz, being of sound mind and strong body leave my experiences at Torrance to Cookie Schmidt, and Carol Cole in hopes they will enjoy them half as much as I. Diana Lassiter, leave my love for parties , good times, my campusments, my middle name (Trouble), and my ability to be in the wrong place at the right time, to Martha Rich. Pat Latham, leave my determination to finish nursing school to Betty Smith, in hopes that it doesn't take her as long as it has taken me. Janet Ramsaur, being of sound mind and slim body leave my reducing pills to the faculty. Rita Settlemyre, leave to anyone who is interested, my INTEREST in laboratories and hope that they accomplish as much as I did. Ellen Severs, leave all my good luck and best wishes to the Class of 1966. Mavis Taylor, leave BOTH laundry room sinks on the second floor to Margaret Morgan with hopes that she will find them BOTH as useful as I did. Sue Wise, leave my love for ''Student Nursing Days to all the freshmen in hopes that they will enjoy it and have as much fun as [ have. We, the graduates of Rowan Memorial Hospital School of Nursing as of August 20, 1964 wish for our last wills to be cherished by those we have known for the past three years. As we set our sails and drift to yonder rise, we leave these things to you. 1. To our clas s advisor, Miss Rachel Suggs, as we set our sails of departure we leave with many fond memories of you! 2. To our Doctors we wish to express our sincere appreciation for the understanding and guidance you have given us in the past three years. 3. To our faculty, headnurses, supervisors, and directors we leave our deepest appreciation for without each of you our goal would have been far out of reach. 4. To Mrs. Kellum, Mrs. Mahaley, and Mrs. Page, our mothers away from home, we leave saying we love you. 26
