tenure has been one of the maior problems this year at glassboro state. both faculty and students have voiced their concern over the issue, citing as their goal, excellence of education. should the period be extended before tenure is granted? should the entire college situation rule over individual merits? if so, then should tenure be abolished as irrelevant? these questions must be answered not only in new jersey but nation- wide. it is the hope of the image that these issues may be satis- factorily resolved - the institution cannot bear up aca- demically under another glassboro '7l.

sga-apathetic? is it a sincere desire for change, or the drive for power, ambition, or status that makes a per- son want to hold office? in other words, what makes sga run? who are their officers, and why are they elected? officers are chosen by students, and it is the students who must review their ac- tions. the defeat of the stadium lights was a landmark in the history of the organization, redirecting monies from that proiect to furnishing of the student center. but on two other equally impor- tant issues, such as voter registration in glassboro and the S250 tuition hike, senators and members should have acted in a manner most beneficial to the maiority of gsc students. in proportion to the number of gsc students, the number of persons actually organized to register, and to protest the S250 tuition hike in trenton, were low. those in charge can tell what they've accomplished, and the students know what they haven't. the image of the sga is merely a fagade. if-' I 1 f in .il
