VICTORY ’72 THE ROYAL COURT On October 27, although another rainy Homecoming day, R.O.V.A. spectators were out to see the annual parade. It included floats, attendants, players, Tigerettes, band, and the cheerleaders. Afterwards, all returning to the gymnasium for various skits and cheers before burning the dummy on the field. That night, enthusiasm still alive, the Tigers defeated Knoxville in a 9 to 7 victory. At half-time, coronation was followed by the presentation of floats, the Marching Tigers, and a performance by the Tigerettes. Saturday evening, the Inaugural Ball was held with Queen Marsha and King David reigning. Enjoying the music of Elrod Bridge , the royalty danced to Colour My World after the coronation. Truly, a memorable Homecoming '72. Tigers 14 Third place; Junior float Fourth place; Fresh, float Enjoying Elrod Bridge 15 Stars of “74” The Junior Class Play The Night of January 16th was held November 17 and 18 in the cafetorium. The play depicted the trial of Miss Karen Andre, the defendent (played by Sharon Adams). Miss Andre's attorney was played by John Salter. Dave Pogue portrayed the District Attorney. Other members of the cast were; Wanda Davis, Randal Larson, Brad Hendricks, Debbie Wignall, Kim Main, Jim Scott, Marty Anderson, Jeanne Henderson, C.F. Peterson, Richard Burns, Kathy Adams, Patti Behringer, Bill Vinson, Debbie Brown, Joyce Holt, Mike Holt, Michelle Strom, and Julie Martinson. 16 Behind the set. On May 24 the Speech Class presented the collage of voices entitled The Brick and the Rose. It delt with the life and tragic death of a young boy who started and ended with drugs as his world. The cast included K. Rit-tenhouse, R. Mills, M. Stickle, R. Boughton, K. Adams, M. Holt, G. Bassett, D. Foster, A. Truelove, K. McClay, G. Rylander, S. Westerdale. A second play was presented the same night entitled A Black Comedy which required the audience's full attention to imagine the stage in complete darkness and the actors fumbling in the dark. The cast included J. Salter, D. Weir, D. Appell, P. Rollins, P. Behinger, M. Holt, K. Farrell, B. Hendricks. 17 Farmer's Day 18 Queen Darla and King Doug. Farmers Ball A new kind of square dance. The speaker for the evening was Ken Anderson, who entertained with a talk and films of his own experiences with the Cincinnati Bengals.
