Laurie Leafgreen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Leaf-green, Rio, was born September 6, 1953, and died August 9, 1970, in an airplane crash near Cuzco, Peru. Laurie was visiting Peru as a foreign exchange student under the International Fellowship Program. Her activities at R.O.V.A., as a member of the Class of 1971, included Pep Club, G.A.A., F.H.A., N .H.S., Spanish Club, yearbook editor, and cheerleader. Laurie was a member of the Rio Presbyterian Church. Milt Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peterson, Rio, was born April 10, 1954, and died October 14, 1970, in Cottage Hospital, Galesburg, Illinois, after he had been critically injured in an automobile accident two weeks earlier. Milt was a member of the Class of 1972, class president as a freshman and participated in football. He was also a Boy Scout Patrol leader. Milt attended the Rio Presbyterian Church. Jamie Harriman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gale Harriman, Rio, was born August 17, 1954, and died October 3, 1970, in an automobile accident near Rio, Illinois. Jamie's activities at R.O.V.A., as a member of the Class of 1973, included participating in basketball and track. He was also a Boy Scout Patrol leader. Jamie was a member of the Rio Presbyterian Church.
