Varsity Squad Although the Tigers started the season with little experience, they came back to end the season with 6 wins and 3 losses, taking second place in the Little Six Conference. They were under the leadership of coaches Bill Wise, Jeff Brown, and tri-captains Bob Sornberger, Tom Holmes, and Gary Holt. The Fighting Tigers line-up consisted of seniors: B. Sornberger FB, C. Naslund HB, T. Holmes HB, G. Holt C, J. Clark G, S. Main E, S. Haynes E, D. Boyer E, D. Salter E, W. Chasteen HB--and juniors: H. Magnuson QB, D. Bjorling HB, M. King G, R. Holman T. Dale Bjorling did not see much action this year due to a broken leg, but he will be back next year to lead the Tigers with Howard Magnuson and Mike King, tri-captains for the 1970-71 season. 25

Practice Prepares and.. . Many ingredients to a good football team are coaches, players, equipment, managers, and most important of all--PRACTICE. There is little enjoyment in practicing two hours every day of the week, going home to do homework, and getting up the next morning to start another long day. After months of sweat and fatigue, the time approaches to show what they have learned. They play the game to the best of their ability, but the other team has a fraction more skill. When ambition and confidence give way to disappointment, ask him WHY he plays football.
