A boy and girl get out and walk slowly toward the door where the faithful janitor, Bill, stands waiting to let them inside. When they walk through the lobby, they remember the noon hours sitting on the benches and listening to records. As they walk up the now deserted hall, they remember the laughing, talking crowds between classes; the times their lockers were stacked; and the times they were late for school and had to get a slip” from Mrs. Holmes in the office. The class rooms, too, bring back memories: Happy memories of favorite classes and not so happy memories of tests. As they walk back down the hall, they come to the study hall and library. Here are many happy memories of dances and parties. Perhaps their last school party was held here. When they reach the gym, they separate. The girl walks through the locker room remembering the P.E. classes and the G. A. A. meetings and then on through the band room. Here she remembers the band rehearsals, concerts and night practices before contest. Girls’ chorus, mixed chorus and ensembles were held here, too. Meanwhile, the boy walks slowly through the Ag room remembering not only classes, but also F. F.A. meetings and the good times when he was working on a project. He walks through the shop room and back out to the boys’ locker room where he remembers “chalk talks at basketball and football practices. The boy and girl meet again in the lobby. As they walk out the door, they do not look back for they are the typical seniors who, all over this broad land of ours, are leaving the familiar to find their destiny in a strange, but wonderful world. There were times we thought we wouldn't. But we finally got it done. It took a lot of effort. But we had a lot of fun. 70 INTERCOLLEGIATE PRESS Publishers (ever Manufacturers Book Binders FACTORY HOME OFFICE Kansas City — X W“'' V,. ■ — • V
