Assisting in the employment of good teachers to benefit our ROVA High School youth and the handling of school finances were among the manv duties for which Mr Browning was responsible Through years of experience with tomorrows citizens, Nh Browning has brought to our school two new ideas for bettel education and for being able to get along better with people Pnst on his program for the vear was the Home Room Guidance Course Second was the Idea of having high school senior girl-4 who are interested in teaching help in the ow ei crowded grade rooms Yet ex en with this heavy schedule we find him alwavs cheerful and willing to lend a helping hand in school activities 'I Mrs Doris Hunter, secretary to Mr McKibben Faculty . I L I I4 oo! hull -I 1950 CLASS PROPHECY June I 1960 To whom lt may concern Just a few lines to remlnd you that Im stlll working at Mlllers Mutual Insurance Company The other dav on my lunch hour I went into Cralgs Sweet Shop owned by none other than EARI CRAIG a former ROVA student And whom should I see but some college students BETTY AMENOI-'F and MARTHA ERICKSON As they were old friends of mine I dropped over to chat with them awhlle Just then the cutest little paper boy came m so I bought a paper As we were lookmg at the sports page we happened to see that Coach JIM ASPLUNDS team had defeated Tllden Tech bv a tremendous score Then Betty exclaimed Oh look' DALE HATCH has been offered a contract to play pro football' In the socletv sectlon of the paper we saw where BONNIE GRAVITT had announced her en gagement to an old flame And there too was PAT ANDERSONN picture and announcement of her marriage to her school boy sweetheart The annual Farm Bureau Conventnon was held the past week at a local hotel Knox County farm adviser ROGER BOLAND was the featured speaker of the convention Committees were appomted to check on local livestock changes and chalrmen were BOB BROWN BILL DeREW and BILL GREEN Lookmg at the prices of ears which bv the was are as high as ever we came upon an ad for JCES JOLLOPIES owned bv a famous car dealer JOE FANSLER The State debate team of which DON BAIIN BRIDGF IS a member won first place at a local meet ILANNE DEVLIN popular vocalist ls now After we VlSlted awhlle I left As I was walking down State Street whom should I see but the famous Patrlcna Stevens Model NANCY ANDER SON who IS currently being featured m the Vogue Maganne But I had to hurry back and pound out my weekly wages on my best frxend the tvpe wnter so we dldnt have time to talk much On my trlp through the Canadian Northwest m the slunmer of 59 I was surpnsed and dellghted to run into several of my old classmates I registered m one of those impresslve tourist hotels The vlew from the lobby was magnificent and as I stood there contemplating It I heard someone say Hello there I hurrled nght over tm talk to RUTH KENNY' She was dletlclan for this classv affair She asked lf I knew who the chef was Of course I couldnt lmagme so she took me to the kitchen and there stood the famous BOB M. JOHNSON up to hrs elbows ln Caesar Salad If only Mrs Weeeh could have seen her Home Ec IV pupll then' Later I decided to go for a swlm ln the nearby lake The water was chllly but wonderful and I swam and swam not realizing how far from shore I was getting Just as I thought, I was surelv doomed there came a rowboat and I asked for a lnft In It was GAYLE KRANZ and ln the bottom of hrs boat were a tremendous muskle two huge pike and several gleaming bass I thanked hlm for savmg me and asked hlm to let me off near a woodland trail On the way back I heard a chopping nolse and veered off my trail to Investigate There was tall and muscle bound lumberjack FRED HENDRICKS whackmg away at a blg plne tree It was so good to see that wonderful grm of his after all these years' We talked for several minutes but it was gettmg dark so I had to leave It was a longer trip back than I had antlclpated and I was havmg vlsxons of rattlesnakes and big black bears when whom should I meet bllt TRACY JOHNSTON a full fledged forest ranger Was I glad to see hun' H walked me back to the hotel where I changed and had dinner Ifmally the floor show started and wonder of wonders EVELYN JOHNSON appeared in a lovelv evening dress and began to sing She was guest vocalist and had been singing wlth a well known band Next day I went mto town to buy a sports out fit I got mad at the clerk and asked to see the manager Thank goodness I did cause JOYCE LEAFGREEN turned out to be the manager She eertamly had a mee httle shop She Informed me that JoANN JOHNSON had a summer Nursery School just around the corner so I went to see her There she was with about 50 kids around her two of them her own' I went to lunch then and the lunchroom was awfully crowded so I sat with another girl Guess who EBBIE JEAN LARSON' She teaches P E now and was on her vacation She needs It if her classes were anything like those at good old ROVA Well next I got onto a slghtseemg bus and whom should I sxt ln back of but LaVONNE HOLMES We started talking so fast we forgot to look at the slghts It seems she and her husband had come here for their anniversary That mght I went to a football game and dis covered the manager to be BIG BOB JOHNSON VVhat a team he had They hadn t lost a game As I was about to slt down someone ran 67 yards for a touchdown The clamoring crowd shouted Hurrah HEFLIN' There he was a valuable pro player Just think he went to ROVA' Next mornmg I couldnt find a table at break fast so I went ln search of the hostess and found JANE MILROY She sat and talked wlth me whlle I a e Mv vacation was almost over so I had to go to the TWA offlce for anrplane reservations and there I found JOYCE MOORE secretary to the blg execu tlve She was very busy and I didnt get to talk to her as long as I would have llked Next day after havmg packed my luggage and bade my friends goodhve I boarded the plane and was greeted by pert and pretty alrlme hostess JOAN MELTON It was wonderful to see all these old classmates and I never before en,1oved a vacation so much As soon as I got home I was sent out on an advertlsing campaign I hopped the first tram Last and who should be the englneer but EVERETT STEWARD He always dld like to move right along , .J . . . . , . , V ' Y - 1 I v 4 - 9 , . . How- ever, before it was closed. they won their last two games. This gave them an overall record of 16 wins and 3 loses for the season.
