On Friday, November 2, 1979, the Roundup High School football team won their first State Class B Championship with the defeat of the Belt Huskies 30 - 12. This game ended a perfect 10 - 0 season for our team and their coaches. Head football coach, Mr. Gary Ray, was also selected Class B Coach of the Year. Mr. Ray played on the Panther team when he was in high school and played college ball at Eastern Montana College. Besides the more prominent glories like winning the State Football Championship, there are many others like a successful year for the Annual Staff. The staff worked very hard this year with meeting dead-lines, raising money, and finishing pages. 1 owe many thanks to Peggy Toombs of the Record Tribune for the pictures she took for us and to Winston Brillhart the yearbook photographer.
