Jim has lettered for three years and has a fool-proof block. A three year letterman. Bill Dixon shows just how far guts and deter- mination can go. He is an offen- sive guard ana a defensive tackle. Tom Liggett has lettered for three years. He maintains brains are worth more than brawn. He is a defensive halfback and an offen- sive quarterback. Roundup feels Rex Brown is one of the best tackles around. During offensive plays he is a guard. Rex- has lettered for three years. This page is dedicated to the senior members of the varsity football team. They showed us what it means to win graciously, and how to come back after defeat and win a game. Steve Black plays the end position during both offensive and defensive plays. Steve is also a three year letterman and is a very fine player. Dan Kelly is a two year letterman. He plays an end offensively and on defense he is a halfback. For a little guy Dan shows true grit. Being a three year letterman, Frank Donnes plays defensively as a half- back and as a tailback during offen- sive plays. RH8 Basketball Gathered for a pep talk is the girl's basketball team. My hood's better than yours, Man, do we got drums Leonardo would be proud of you My very own couch! Caught you in the act, Allan, HEY, FRED, did you eat beans for dinner AGAIN?? 52 I could've danced all night! Freshman Initiation, to the dis- may of most townspeople, is a time for good-natured trick- playing on the part of the Seniors and Freshmen. Unfortunately, bad weather canceled painting the R and polishing football shoes, but these industrious stu- dents made up for it a hundred- fold by throwing rotten eggs and cottage cheese and pouring sour cream over each other's head. If the truth be known, fun was had by most of the participants. Homecoming was a very suc- cessful event this year. It started with a parade from the high school down to the end of Main Street and back again. The participants were Round- up's band, Red Lodge's band, the Twirlers and Majorettes, members of the Varsity foot- ball team, the queen-candi- dates both the Varsity and Junior Varsity cheerleading squads, followed by the Stu- dent Body. That night at the game the Junior Class float Checkin' the Points, took first in the float contest, Judy Goffena was crowned Home- coming Queen and best of all Roundup beat Red Lodge mak- ing the Homecoming dance a truly victorious dance. Pep Club, students, cheerleaders, and teachers all worked hard to keep up the spirit with a lot of laughs and much moral support from their fans to help them get the job done. 60 RHS Twirlers After much practice and hard work, the Majorettes and twirlers put on fine programs to represent Roundup H.S. Even though it was work, they enjoyed perform- ing for us. 61 Music This year the band performed many times and received a superior rat- ing (I) at the District Music Festival. This rating has not been achieved since 1952. The band also went on tour and performed at Bridget and Absarokee, Montana. We're proud of our Band t The chorus performed through- out the school year at many occasions. The chorus re- ceived an excellent rating (II) and the choralaires received a superior rating (I) at the Dis- trict Music Festival. The chorus went on tour and per- formed at Grass Range and Moore, Montana. Good job, chorus! 62 May Day May Pole, dancers, let the festivities begin! Jim Ondracek wins the Louisiana Pacific Scholarship. Everyone agrees May Day was ex- citing this year. Five of the pret- tiest girls in the senior class (Linda Johns n, Mary Perkins, Laura Gild- roy, Karen Bennet, and Cindy Kenda) were selected as May Queen candidates. Linda was selected to reign over the festivities. May Day is the one time of year when our finest students, actors, athletes, and musicians can be recognized.
