Then, he was moved to the Roundup hospital where his friends were able to visit more frequently and assist in his therapy. Later, Jeff went to a therapy center in Portland, Oregon. After his stay there, he returned home for further therapy and treatment from family and friends while waiting to be admitted to the Walter's School in New Orleans, Louisianna. Presently, Jeff is still attending the Walter's School. Posing for formal picture (Dec. 72) 20 JUNIORS Settling in , the juniors prepare for a busy 3rd year in their high school career. We had some great laughs at times such as when Davy almost broke Robby's back in their love scene or when the door knob fell off the door during an entrance, or at Kenny's fake German accent. The sad mo- ments always seemed to come after the final production when we realized this would be the last time we would ever put on THIS play or it was the seniors LAST play and this particular group of actresses and actors would never put on a play together again. 41 Seated in a V for victory, the Pep Club members are: ROW 1 from LEFT--Jan Davis, President; Miss Michele Middlesworth, sponsor; Joann Adolph, Sec.-Treas. This year was a very good one for basketball at Roundup High School. Many exciting games were played and many were won. We did have our share of losses, but everyone can't be winners all the time. It doesn't matter whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game. This old saying had a lot of meaning this year. It DID matter whether the boys lost or won, it mattered to them and to all who supported them. However, winning or losing, the team never lost its high standard of sportsmanship. This is the most important thing in competitive sports and we can be proud when we say the Round- up Panthers possess good sportsman- ship! 52 Tom Ask has been a member of the Varsity team all of his four years at R. H. S. He plays center and was chosen this year for the 1972-73 All Conference Team. senior Bill Hanley has been a center for R. H. S. for two years. Previous to this he played J. V. basketball for two years. Bill is also active in both football and track. LONG FORMS RACED MORE OFTEN DOWN THE BASKET- BALL COURT THAN SHORT FORMS. Rod Mikkelson played forward for the Panthers this year. Surely no one will ever forget Rod's four second pass to Curt Jensen in the game against Huntly Project at District Tourney! Curt proceeded to sink the basket putting us into an overtime and a victory over the Devils. This victory led us into the Championship game with Columbus Cougars and the Panthers ended up in second place and the chance to go to the Divisional Tourney in Livingston. players. A forward at R. H. S. for three years, Steve Blazina has always given his all in basketball. No game was complete without Steve lunging for the ball and ending up against the wall. varsity Transferring from Chinook, Mon- tana, Curt Jensen started his bas- ketball career at R. H. S. in his freshman year. He has played on the Varsity team for four years and has also been active in foot- ball and track. 53 Junior Varsity, from LEFT, BACK ROW: Coach Gary Ray, Can Cooley, Mark Bublich, Leroy Alt, Mark Spranger, Dan Brewer, Manager Richard Kemper. FRONT ROW: Farren Kenda, Mike Sherpe, Roger Holliday, Pat Devine. The Junior Varsity had a season of 14 wins and 6 losses. perspiring-oh, we mean aspiring- athletes preparing for the big time. Among other track standouts was Martin Dickerson, 4th place shot put thrower in the state, who threw the shot put 53'8 and the discus 155' breaking both of those records in the school archives. A high jump man, Tom Liggett broke the record by jumping 5'10 '.
