The freshmen took part in activities such as carrying books for seniors, wearing beanies, bowing at the feet of their royal seniors, and painting the R . Culminat- ing the week's activities, the freshmen Queen Cathi frugged at the Freshmen Frolic. 9KOSM mzu zjoa1 3 HOM8COMWG1967 Homecoming 1967-68 was an event that will stand out in the memories of all. Long hours were spent by the band and twirlers preparing for the parade and half- time performance. Classes were kept busy constructing their floats, and to the joy of the Seniors their float was awarded first prize. The highlight of the night was the crowning of Sharon Matthews as Homecom- ing Queen, and the Panthers defeating the Redskins 43-6. The dance, with music provided by the Sweet Nothings, was a great success. Streamers lay about, the dance floor was empty, but Homecoming, 1967-68, will remain in every heart. 4 6 VUK MSAKZS W8K8 yOWQAWQAV Shirley, Don, and Luba The R.H.S. Drama Club presented a three-act play, a comedy Our Hearts Were Young and Gay, on November 2, 1967. The play was a smashing suc- cess with excellent acting ability portrayed by all. Let's hope that future plays can match up to this fine piece of dramatic talent displayed. Wearily they sank into their chairs tired from burning the midnight pil, while trying to cram one fruitless semester of learning into one night. After an hour of vain guessing, the students escaped while smiles spread across their relieved faces. What was the cause of this show of emotion? Semester tests, of course 11 School Spirit Week began bright and early Monday morning with the RHS students running wildly outside to cheer. The halls were decorated in wall to wall posters and maroon and white was the color scheme. Mr. and Mrs. School Spirit were Harriet Agre and Steve Racki. Rita Robert and Kelly Gebhardt were the loudest yell winners, Mari Jane Robbins was the slogan contest winner, and Tim Sine won the cartoon contest. Mayor Robbins was our honored guest and speaker. The players were presented the traditional red roses by Pep Club President Luba Fanyak, after a story and picture of each player. 5 e M O o jC s p J K J Z w e £ K PANZH8KS ZAKS To the victor belongs the spoils. Three consecutive victories over Huntly Project, Harlo and Lodge Grass conceded the title of the Southern B District Tournament to the Roundup Panthers. Their outstanding perform- ances were hightened championship night when the Panther captains were awarded not only the district trophy but the conference title also. Truly the 1967-68 basketball year proved to be a very rewarding one to the Panthers and their ardent fans. The competition was keen with many excel- ' ™ lent projects displayed. The science department of our high school can be —— very proud of its teacher, its students, and their performance. I 16 M ZJOMjC ASSBMKjC RHS has been enter- tained by some very talented people this last year. We were favored with an acrobatic act, a program on Swiss music, an oratory on Abraham Lincoln. Also we were visited by a man from Nasa and an artist. On the whole they were all very interesting. WAMA CZUU PKSSeWZA ZJOftS The three one-act plays presented by the drama club ranged in nature from the dramatic -- The Plumb Tree -- to humorous -- The Final Dress Rehearsal -- to the melodramatic -- Dark Doings at the Cross Roads . Such a variety in plays added to the enjoyment of the entire audience. 19 0OV6KMMSNZ DAV On May 6, 1968, the Seniors finally showed their community what true leaders should be like. On this day the Seniors took over the city government duties and responsibilities for the day. All in all the Seniors proved their capability in city and county management. 20 PKOM KAMUSZ Junior class President Bill Funk introduced Judge Nat Allan as guest speaker for the 1968 Junior- Senior Prom Banquet. The speech topic Juvenile Delinquency” was quite interesting to the audience. 21 QA V 90 's }K. — Queen Jacquie The Gay 90's must have been fun! Everyone at the Jr. - -Sr. 1968 Prom looked as if they were having a great time. The table decora- tions set the mood for the night and the punch girls looked as if they had just stepped out of the 1890's. zz Wom MAVOAV Queen Linda Queen Linda Majerus reigned over the May Day Festivities May 13, 1968 in the Roundup High School gymnasium. Her attendants were Marilee Carlson, Susan Fletcher, Barb Bowers, and Dosie Picchioni. Carrying her train were Malinda and Madalena Piccihioni and the crown bearer was Jim Majerus, the Queen's brother. A group of Senior girls did a very impressive and colorful job of winding the Maypole. Conrad Robertson, Student Body President, acted as Master of ceremonies for the evening. The evening held many surprises and proved to be very entertaining for all attending. 24 JSSZJVKJSS Best Actress 25 Tim accepts trophies Majorettes receive awards KACCMAURSA m The hour cometh and now is, when true worshippers shall worship the Father. . . Senior students constituted the worship service: Mary Hagstrom read the prayer; Don Janich led in the repeating of Psalm 100; and Jim Raths presented the traditional light of learning to Junior Class Presi- dent, Bill Funk. The Baccalaureate address was given by Rev. Anthony Sorger. The service was concluded by the benediction. 26 27 On May 27, 1968, Elton Lee and John Larson led the graduating Seniors through the doors of R.H.S. for the last time. Rev. Donald Gould opened with a very inspiring invocation. Susan Fletcher and Dosie Picchioni spoke on character, the future and the past of their class. Howard C. Porter of the Billings Business College gave a very enjoyable speech for the benefit of the graduating Seniors. The diplomas were presented by Alma E. Agre, chairman of the Board. Rev. James Forn concluded the exer- cises with the benediction. The Seniors rose and to the strains of Pomp and Circumstances, they filed out of the doors, some with tears of mixed emotions and others with smiles of relief. 28 juzuks aes 29 ecass omesKS Senior Class Officers: Jim Raths President, Darrel Adolph Vice President, Dolly Wade Secretary-Treasurer, Connie Hoffman, Ken Golob Representatives. PM ADS The smooth operation of School District 55 is the responsibility of Mr. Robert D. Krogh, our Superintendent of Schools. Mr. Krogh, who has been associated with the Roundup School System for seven years, is considered one of the top administrators in this area. In spite of his crowded schedule, he can always find time to help any student or teacher when help is needed. Mr. Krogh’s outstanding characteristic is his good sense of humor. Mr. Robert D. Krogh Superintendent of Schools Mrs. Eileen Stortz fills an im- portant function in the efficient operation of our school. She grad- uated from R.H.S. and has been clerk for School District 55 for the past twenty years. She takes care of school money, makes financial reports and serves as Mr. Krogh's right hand man. Her cheerful personality has made her popular with students and teachers. Mrs. Eileen Stortt Clerk of School District S5 45 ■ wmm' - - Mr. Gildroy came to R.H.S. in 1960. He is well equipped for his tremendous job as Principal because he has experienced almost all the prob- lems that a teacher or principal has, for he has been both. Every day he deals with student problems, super- vises school activities and maintains discipline in a fitting blend of authority and understanding. Mrs. Lilian Heinle came to R.H.S. in 1964. She types the morning report, takes excuses for both absentees and tardies. She records the students' semester grades and performs other routine office tasks. She possesses the good disposition needed for her occupation. 46 if . Meeting regularly once a month, the school board has made many plans during the 1967-68 school year. Busy members take time from their various occupations to plan the district's school program. They form the vital link be- tween the community and the schools. Promoting the primary duties of the school is the most important job of the staff which includes our two efficient custodians and able bus drivers. The staff is definitely an aid in keeping the school running smoothly. FACULTY Wayne Adams Guidance Director Thomas Ferguson Ind. Arts, Arts Crafts Mech. Drawing ROUNDUP’S JUNIOR. . This fact was evidenced through the 1967 junior-senior prom, a record-breaking magazine sale, and an award winning homecoming float. The enthu- siasm and drive of Roundup's graduating class of 1968 will remain lingering in the halls of RHS long after die embodiment of these attributes are gone.
