GIRLS’ STATE Jane Lee Laurie was chosen to attend Girls’ State this year. Delegates are chosen on their scholastic ability as well as leadership and personality. Girls’ State offered an opportunity to learn about our government first hand by being elected to offices on city, county, and state level and carrying out duties involved in these offices. Jane Lee will leave in June to attend the activities on Rocky Mountain College campus in Billings. The Girls’ State delegate is again sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary. Diane Masini was chosen as alternate. BOYS’ STATE Thomas Iverson was chosen to attend Boys’ State to be held in Dillon, August 20 to 28. Delegates are chosen on basis of their scholastic achievement. Boys’ State gives the delegates a chance to learn the operation of all elective and appointive offices on the state level of government. Ray Rech was chosen as the alternate in the event that Iverson is unable to attend. This year, as last year, the Rotary Club will sponsor the delegate. This sponsorship includes all travel expenses as well as fees.
