V girls' strong efforts provide Wins This was a victorious year for the Junior Varsity girls volleyball team. The overall record was a victorious 9-1. The best offensive player was Kim Alford, freshman. The best defensive player was Kathleen Kuhl, junior. Most improved player for the year was Gilianne Carter, sophomore. Most valuable player was Carla Noren, junior. Each of these players was selected for their honor by their teammates. This was an exceptionally talented group of girls. They had to fight all season to maintain a position. At the end of the season, I would have to say Cecily Webb, sophomore, emerged as the best-all-around player. She served, set, played back row and hit very con- sistantlyf' commented Coach Barbara Moehle. Good year for freshman volleyballers This year was a very good year for the. freshman volleyball teams. The maroon team had a record of 17 wins and seven losses. In district they had nine wins and only one loss. For the white team, the overall record was 16 wins and nine losses. In district they had seven wins and three losses. The most valuable player this year was freshman Rhonda Sautter. This year's most improved player was Brooke Miller. Team captains were maroon team Brooke Miller and Donna King, white team Holly McLeod.
