A xy is-sl Seniors lead young golf team The effect of the High Schoolls split was tremendously seen on the Round Rock Golf Team. As most of the previous yearls team went to Westwood, Round Rock was left with a young and inexperienced team. Without a local place to practice, the golf team traveled to Balcones Country Club, Georgetown Country Club, and to the golf course at Southwestern University. The highlight of the season happened in the fall as the golfers left the San Marcos ln- vitational with the first place trophy. The Dragons competed in four other invitationals sus- --M., At the greens of the Georgetown Country Club, James Peters, senior, putts the ball. David Zavala, senior, demonstrates the proper Swing. an w as ' i Mx' 'Y , X and then placed sixth at the District Tourna- ment. Coach Tom Taylor saw much im- provement of the individual players. Over the past three years, Don Campbell, senior, has really improved. Also the freshman golfers showed much improvement. Look- ing ahead, golfers including David Kuhlman, Chris Herzik, Craig Radl, and Ken Pfeiffer will be the ones to watch for. Don Campbell, senior, commented, Though this year's team was not as ex- perienced and was younger, we showed much spirit for competing. Coach Taylor has , done a great job coaching and has made th year a fun and a learning year. The futur team will grow in experience and spirit an should be in top competition. Coach Taylor stated, What this year golf team lacked in positive results we made up for in cooperation, desire, and a titude.
