The annual epidemic came early this yea only to be put on hold with a late cold fron When the disease did take hold, however, i was serious. Many Rock Stars had no desire to open the books, and Rock Producers found no cure fc spring fever since students wanted to go ou side and enjoy the warm weather instead 1 study. As everything grew green and warm, peopl headed to the park for lunch, frisbee or just 1 get away, Sometimes, teachers were persuac ed to conduct class outside or let students d homework on the-front lawn. It was hard for seniors, like Leslie Dean, 1 spend time in school when the weather wa nice. HI felt like dropping everything an rushing out to the lake, she said. The Round Rock American Federation 1 Teachers sponsored its own brand of sprir fever. Spring Fever Fest 1982 was a scho wide festival on the order of an old fashion fair designed to demonstrate positive attribute of students in the district. Although it rained last year, the second a. nual fest kicked off to be a fun day fc everyone. Mrs. Joan Hall, director of the even felt it was successful and enabled high scho students to do something for younger kids. Twenty-four booths, ranging from a car ba to selling funnel cakes, helped organizatio raise money. Booth fees went to AFT's schola ship fund, each club kept its own profit. The only real cure for the springtime illne was to have fun, and that was okay h everyone. i
