Drama Productions Drama continues lofty success Round Rock's Drama Department con- iued its lofty level of success in 1981-82. s performance of The Mortal Choice, The olden Apple advanced to area UIL com- ztition, having won district and zone com- ztition. In addition, all but three characters on some sort of individual award for their arformances, including senior Jerry Hayes, ho was awarded district best actor. This success was achieved through hard ork by both cast and teacher. Drama udents worked in Drama II classes and 'oduction periods to polish voices and learn interpret and better communicate, all ider the guidance of drama instructor Ford insworth. The actual production of a contest play is long process of preparation, The Golden pple, the first part of a trilogy focusing on inflicts surrounding Helen of Troy, was ritten by Ainsworth himself. From there, ,nsworth and English instructor Marcia ilsabeck worked to stage, cut, and rewrite e play to conform to UIL time guidelines. eanwhile, the cast worked on individual irts, memorizing lines and trying to make e characters as believable as possible Vhat you have when you're finished is a :lished theatrical production, said ilsabeck.
