The class of '85 Fish leave pond to swim upstream dm.. he After school, Kim Rodriguez, freshman, does her homework, watches television, and, of course, . . . talks on the telephone. Like many other new students, these two blindfold- ed freshmen must go through the initiation process. K ,,,x. N, C E 1 emi? I Q. ,,,,..., .rers .W For the past three years freshmen been going to the ninth grade center. year, 81-82, the fish finally got to J out of their pond and go upstream. The 4 of '85 was no longer the hot-shot of cam as in junior high, but the lowest class at Rock. Freshmen had a rough time at I Although it was exciting it was also so The band didn't exactly make it easiei them either. The Dragon band came up this great, sneaky idea of tricking freshmen. They had tickets made to be only to freshmen. These tickets were sa guarantee you a place in the bleachers 1 pep-rally. If a ticket wasn't purchased ended up on the floor. Of course, freshr being freshmen, bought the tickets like cakes, because they weren't going to s the floor. The change from middle school to school was a big one and despite the pranks, most freshmen found they likt much more. For instance, Barbie Gra said, I love it! You have the opportuni meet so many more people, and the: more freedom than from junior high. In many ways, freshman life is very ferent from the life of any other class, example, their academic classes are m all required courses such as physical ea tion, English, world history, and ph science. In spite of these disadvant freshman life was enjoyable and relax but somehow they all looked forward to year. M...-1
