H5 NA NHS! Societies strive for perfection Self satisfaction was the main motivation for the NHS fNational Honor Societyl and NAHS fNational Art Honor Societyl club members. Students involved strived to maintain either a 90 point grade average or, in the case of NAHS, artistic abilities along with an 85 grade point average. Scholarship, character, leadership, and service are the mandatory criteria for students who wish to join the club. However, one must first be evaluated by teachers for the necessary criteria before they are admitted. NAHS members must be enrolled in art and try to have a constant display in classroom, hallways, the 'W library, and in offices. Students are also involved in exchange programs which gives them a chance to gain new ideas for their chapter. NHS members topped off the season with the candle light ceremony which introduced new inductees into the honorary club. Administration Words establish friends Working to get better acquainted with the student body, principals and administration got more involved in student ac- tivities. At football, baseball, or basketball games, you could always find a principal or two, along with other faculty. My goal this year is to get to know the younger students, so when they get to be juniors or seniors I will know more of them, said George Bujnoch, principal. As the administration and principals were out getting to know the students, the PTA and school psychologist were get- ting the parents more involved in activities. Getting to know more people was the main object of the 1981-82 school year for these folks. Norma Jones, assistant principal, checks in a substitute teacher. PTA officers for 1981-82: ffirst rowl Paul Grider, Bob Shear, ttop fowl Jackie Bonner, Ellen Grider, Virginia Womble, Marlene Shear. May I have your attention please? May I have your attention please? The familiar voice of Jeff Rhodes, assistant principal ap- pears every morning. The new lady in the office is Helen Traweek, taking over for Ruth Bengston. Being at Round Rock for 18 years, Ruth Bengston, is given a plaque on a tree given by the senior class.
