Freshmen become a part of the real school Although many thought they'd never make it, believe it or not, the Freshman Class has finally completed the first and most dreaded of their high school years. Never giving up hope, they came through with flying colors. lt may have seemed slow at first, but once given the chance, the freshmen were off and running. Freshmen began getting involved in student council and were quick to join clubs and organizations. One student council freshman, Teresa Kammer, said, l felt freshmen had just as much power in student council as any other class. This was the first year that freshmen ever attended high school, and they seemed to en- joy this new schooling system. Cindy Boyd, freshman, said, I feel that this was really great getting to attend school with up- perclassmen. Being around upperclassmen made us ffreshmenl feel more mature, and gave us a bigger sense of responsibility. However, a not so thrilled senior, Kirk Tuttle felt the opposite way, I think they sh' have left the fish in the 'fish tank' until t mature a little more! During the year, freshmen read Great pectations and Romeo and Juliet. To this ' responded differently. Stephanie Bush sai really enjoyed reading this novel. l got a lof of this, such as learning the way people l long agof' Another freshman, Mark Kadlu said that he didn't enjoy reading this beca took more time to figure it out than it duf read.
