Speech was made up of both ad- vanced and beginner students. The students worked on interpretation, student congress, and practiced on debates. Journalism I was a prerequisite to yearbook or newspaper. The class was mostly comprised of freshman students along with a few upper classmen. The students learned the basic skills of journalism. Three students were moved up to yearbook staff second semester due to the superior talent they showed. These students were Leslie Sansom, Todd Strickland, and Chris Blagg.
