Dragons have a .500 season. It was a rocky season for the Round Rock Dragon Baseball Team. With two consecutive District Championships under his belt, Coach Jim Wynne had to rebuild with the help of his three returning varsity players and settle for a 8-8 district record. As one faithful spectator stated, The team was better than the record shows. There were many good players and the future looks good as Coach Wynne will probably be able to get back to the playoffs next year, The Dragons seemed to perform well in front of the home crowd. Dragon senior pitcher, Dan Murphy, had an impressive record of 7-1, while Kevin Luerson and Scott Bradley, sophomores, were both hitting over .33O. Seeing that Wynne can bring out the better qualities in baseball players, the future looks pro- mising for the Rock, as they will have many retur- ning varsity players. All-District honorees were pitcher Dan Murphy and catcher Jerry Kadlubar, first team, first baseman Kevin Luerson and outfielder Lance Thames were chosen as second team players. Receiving honorable mention were third baseman Steve Staton and shortstop Wade Etheredge. 9 Receiving some last minute advice, Kevin Luersen, sophomore, prepares to bat. At the Austin Invitational Tournament, Danny Guthrie, A V M, iunior, hits to the Crockett defense.
